Fitness is not my expertise, but I definitely have made it a goal to maintain a healthy weight and continue to take care of my body throughout these nine months! I am a big believer that wellness is all about a balance between healthy eating and staying active. It’s so important to give your body what it needs and in turn, you will feel so much better mentally and physically.
A few of my healthy habits:
- Keeping hydrated! Being preggo ups the need for water and now I make sure to drink plenty all day and while exercising. Fiji water is one of my new-found loves. I’m obsessed with its taste & packaging!
- Stay active, but do what you like! For me, I’ve become even more dedicated to my daily 3 mile walk on the local trails. It’s a great way to get fresh air, get my blood moving, tone my legs, and burn some calories! Plus my dog happens to love it, too. I also add in some squats, stretching, and weights to get that extra muscle toning that will help me keep my weight gain at bay, deliver my baby, and get my body back after!
- Eat balanced & healthy. Nutrition is where it’s at. A year ago when I decided to buckle down on my fitness and shed a few pounds the main thing I did was change the way I eat. Now as a mama to be I’m doing my best to continue eating right. Mostly protein, vegetables, fruit, dairy, anything natural. Of course I’m also taking a pre-natal for any vitamins I’m not eating!
Overall I feel so good when I’m being intentional about what I put into my body. I seriously encourage everyone to take these super simple habits and apply them to your life! Pregnant or not you will see improvements in your health & body!
