I know what you are thinking, “great, another mama using/selling oils!”, but wait! I am not kidding, these little oils have changed the game. I was (and am still) pretty skeptical of essential oils and their claims. Here’s what I do know: A. I do really care about living a simple, healthy life with less toxins and chemicals and B. So far essential oils have legitimately worked and I honestly want to share them with you.
Wellness is so important to me. Essential oils provide a natural alternative to many, many daily issues we face, whether that’s physical, emotional, or medicinal. It has been so fun to realize just how many things I can say “there’s an oil for that” for. Oils have been around for a very long time and Young Living has thought of just about everything an oil could solve. I use Young Living because of the quality, pricing, and transparency of the company. Did you know that when you apply an oil topically, it is in your bloodstream within 1-2 minutes and when you inhale an oil the molecules reach your brain in only 20 seconds! Talk about fast acting, right? It takes Tylenol around 30 minutes to take effect in your body. I always ask people, what’s better than a natural custom scent filling your home (and on your body) that has actual health benefits for you and your family!? Am I right?
Okay so let’s chat about the starter kit! What oils does it come with? Do you need them? How do you use them all? Is it worth the price?
(Please keep in mind I am not an expert or doctor and am only speaking on my experience and current knowledge.)
The kit comes with the following ELEVEN 5 ml (full size) oils:
Plus it comes with the Dewdrop diffuser and several samples for $160. That’s over $300 worth in product for basically half the price. I have had my kit for a few weeks now and I’ve used almost every single oil. I plan to experiment with many of them to create my own beauty products and household cleaners, as well.
I rounded up 15 ways for mamas to use their starter kit oils:
Afternoon stress & crankiness:
Diffuse Stress Away & Lemon.
Diaper pail & other odors:
Diffuse Purification or put a drop on cotton ball in pail.
Aid in sleep and resting:
Lavender drop on feet or rubbed on neck and shoulders OR diffuse in the evening.
Wake up and focus:
Diffuse Lavender, Lemon, & Peppermint. This blend has a calming, uplifting effect. My favorite for first thing in the morning.
Peppermint drop on temples.
Mood pick me up for the family:
Diffuse RC! Happy feelings all around.
Add a few drops of DiGize to water. This oil supports digestive wellness.
Hormonal skin issues after baby:
Frankincense drop in daily moisturiser.
Maintaining healthy immune systems for you and babies:
Diffuse Theives (great all through Winter/cold and flu season! Also, after playdates or group functions.)
Teething pain for babes:
Copaiba oil drop rubbed onto gums.
Sore, tired muscles:
(we are mamas, we hold babies most of the day and are constantly running around) PanAway (diluted with a carrier oil) is great for massage. Many people refer to it as similar to Icy Hot because of it’s soothing abilities.
Personally, been really wanting to create my own natural cleaners. Theives is our go to for this. You can also use oils like Lemon or Lavender for scent.
Diffuse Copaiba and Lavender to calm kids and create quiet time.
Roll Lavender and Lemon on back of neck.
Roll PanAway onto area affected to help relieve aches and pains.
Honestly, these oils are awesome and if any of you are like me, you will love adding essential oils to your daily routines. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns that you have!
